*Please note: All trainees doing the 200 hour certificate program are required to complete the Alliance Course stream, unless they meet the conditions outlined below.
This part of the course can begin either before
Or after the training. It is a correspondence course and
Is done independently on your own time. At the end of
The Part 1 intensive, you will have a
meeting with Kinneret to review the course. You
will receive 8 supervision hours (1 hr. per session
per 8 months) on the phone with Kinneret which will help to
guide you through the course.
Time Frame: It can be completed within a minimum of 6 months and
a maximum of a year.
Conditions for participation in Correspondence Course
- Not being a resident of New York, Toronto or Jerusalem and/or
- Interested in specialized focus in Childrens, Seniors or Pre/Post Natal
- Other unique situations. Inquire for details.
Yoga Correspondence Course:
- Class Participation:
a) Taking a class as a participant with a local instructor
in your city/town and having the instructor sign as proof of your attendance or collecting a receipt from your instructor as proof of your attendance.
b) Asking your instructor a minimum of one question per class
and documenting the question and answer.
- Observation of yoga videos or classes:
a) Observing Yoga Videos Or Classes
Not participating in a class but observing a class
b) taking note from Kinneret's "observing a
class" sheets which will clearly outline for what to be
observing and having you answer some important
questions regarding what you are observing.
c) must complete 24 hours
- Volunteer teaching and case study essay:
a)The student will document 15 hours of
Volunteer yoga teaching with an individual or a class
making the project a case study which traces the development
of the students and writing one's findings in a formal
case study essay.
b)Must complete 10 hours of volunteer
teaching (1 hr. per session-45 min. class and 15 min. data
entry) and 5 hours of research and essay writing
c)Must complete a total of 15 hours
- Correspondence with Kinneret:
a)Supervision phone conversations entailing questions and advice regarding
developing oneself as a yoga teacher and an assistance in keeping the
trainee on track regarding time management during the course)
Must complete a total of 8 hours
- Readings and Note taking:
a)reading and note taking utilizing Kinneret's "Note taking on Reading"
sheets which you will use when reading yoga books, journals, and internet articles. These readings and reading sheets will give you opportunity to also select topics in which you may want to deepen your knowledge and have a guided focus in terms of what to look for when
reading these materials.
b)must complete a total of 20 hours
- Audio or Video recordings and personal evaluation:
a)Trainee must record oneself (using either audio or video recorders) teaching a 30 minute class paying attention to the language expression one uses in describing how to get into the yoga poses, the breathing, and the transitions from one pose to another. For each 30 minute segment, the trainee must spend one hour listening to the recording and evaluating the language she chose to
express herself, seeing if she could enhance the language
expression that would help the listener (the student) to come into
the poses with more clarity.
b)must complete a total of 9 hours
Total= 100 hours
Note: All the completed material must be organized and sent to Kinneret in order to receive documentation of hours

NOTE: The costs for the extension program including: 1) paying for your classes with a local teacher 2) paying for rental of videos 3) paying for long distance phone calls to Kinneret for supervision
hours 4) payment for mailing Kinneret materials or any other costs necessary for completing the above requirements of the 6 month extension are not included in the price of the training and
are the complete responsibility of the participant/trainee student and not the training program.
